Sandra Huls is an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse, Family Nurse Practitioner at Texas Regional Clinic. Her specialty area includes pain management and spine surgery.

With her background as a Doctor of Chiropractic and master’s degree in nutrition, she is able to treat each patient holistically so that each patient can reach their goals. She is native to Maryland but has practiced in Louisiana and now in Texas where she has lived for almost 10 years. She earned her Bachelor of Science in nutrition at West Virginia University then earned her master’s in nutrition and Registered Dietitian degree at Indiana University of Pennsylvania. She moved to Louisiana where she primarily worked in the ICU as a Registered Dietitian.

With a strong interest in the body’s innate ability to heal itself, she pursued her Doctor of Chiropractic degree at Texas Chiropractic College. Lastly, she obtained her APRN at UT Health Sciences Center in Houston. She holds certifications in joint injection procedures with and without ultrasound use. She has extensive experience in regenerative medicine, using platelet-rich plasma (PRP), alpha-2-macroglobulin (A2M), and bone marrow aspirate concentrate (BMAC) to treat pain and promote healing. She holds certifications in pain management and is a certified first assist.

She loves to travel and explore with a few of her favorite places being Tibet, Thailand, Cambodia and Vietnam. With two little girls now, she travels less and thus enjoys pursuing athletic events such as being an Ironman athlete and two-time Boston Marathon qualifier and will be running this Boston marathon in April 2023.
